Shira Z Photography Blog bio picture
  • Welcome to my blog! I'm Shira, I'm a wife and mom to 2 gorgeous little girls. I love to photograph spontaneous, adventurous families being carefree! I want you to let your children be themselves and have fun. Cuddle and kiss them as much as possible so I can capture the love you all have for each other!

Please take a look at around the blog and contact me with any questions.  My most recent work can be found here and on my facebook page. I'll also be posting updates, promotions, and tons of photos of my daughters :)   So feel free to check in every once in a while to see what I've been up to!  There's a comment section below each post where you can leave any questions, or thoughts on what you see. I'd love to hear from you!

James & Justine’s Wedding Day! | Long Island Wedding Photographer | Shira Z Photography

An orange cake. A photo booth with costumes.  A candy table with goody bags. Masks at everyone’s seats and a pumpkin on each table. This wedding was Halloween heaven!! I was really impressed with all the little details they put together. Justine and James met on a blind date set up by Justine’s mom!!  Crazy right? And  apparently they both knew they found “the one” after their 2nd date! I love that story. They are really a great couple and its obvious everyone of their friends and family members felt the same. Everyone was so laid back and happy, it was an AWESOME party. Here’s a little sneak peak of the day.

loved her purple shoes!!

and matching purple birdcage veil!!

the gorgeous bridal party…

Groomsmen and the best woman!

check out the swords and wands the bridal party is holding…

The grooms sister made their cake topper and it is AMAZING, looks so much like them!

17 Months old! | Long Island Baby Photographer | Shira Z Photography

My baby is already 17 months old! I don’t know where the time went!! All anyone asks me lately is when I’m having another and I feel like I just had her, its insane. I haven’t really done a shoot with her in a while because she’s been so difficult to photograph since she started walking!! Well, today I got my new studio light and figured I should test it out and I’m loving it!! Now all I need is a studio and I’m set!! lol. One day hopefully. Anyway, here’s my Talia!!

I resorted to bribing her with a cookie, hey whatever works!!

she loves these ugly rain boots we bought at Target, I love this shot.

my crazy lady!

her hair is at an in between stage so its usually a big mess. I can just put it into pigtails but she usually pulls them out within minutes!

a natural!;)

Daddy’s home! (and needs a haircut desperately!! lol)

In Love! | Long Island Family Photographer | Shira Z Photography

As in, I’m so in love with these kids. They are no doubt one of the cutest sets of siblings I’ve ever met. I was actually pretty nervous going into this session because they are cousins of my best friend and I used to work with the Dad back in the day. He was a chef at Middle Bay Country Club when I used to waitress back in high school. Yup, I used to waitress and I was probably the worst waitress EVER. lol. Thankfully we’ve both moved on to bigger and better things and he is currently an amazing chef at The West End Cafe in Westbury.

I was also a little nervous because the kids are a little older than I’m used to photographing. I’ve photographed so many kids ages 3 and under but not as many above the preschool age. Turns out there was no reason to be, these kids literally ran over and started babbling on and on to me as if I’ve known them forever. It was great. And to top it off they actually like each other!!  I’ve never seen a brother and sister hug and kiss as much as these two, it actually made me a little emotional.

I’m going to share waaay too many photos here because I just love them all!:)

I thought it might be fun to throw in some hula hoops and it was!
