Shira Z. Photography – Long Island Family and Newborn Photographer bio picture
  • Welcome to my blog! I'm Shira, a family and newborn photographer based out of Long Beach, NY. I love to photograph spontaneous, adventurous families being carefree! I want you to let your children be themselves and have fun. Cuddle and kiss them as much as possible so I can capture the love you all have for each other!

Please take a look at around the blog and contact me with any questions.  My most recent work can be found here and on my facebook page. I'll also be posting updates, promotions, and a bunch of photos of my girls :)   So feel free to check in every once in a while to see what I've been up to!  There's a comment section below each post where you can leave any questions, or thoughts on what you see. I'd love to hear from you!

Baby Boy N <3

I thought Mom and Dad had their hands full with their twin cuties and now they have another handsome baby boy!! I really enjoy seeing a family again after they’ve had their 2nd or 3rd baby and catching up. I love to hear the different birth stories and see how everyone is adjusting to the new baby. It’s all so exciting! I loved that time after my girls were first born. Minus the sleepless nights of course.

Big brother and big sis didn’t want too much to do with their little brother at first and they had me working pretty hard for the family photos!:)After a little jumping on the bed they started to warm up to him, it was so sweet! I caught a few of those moments while they were helping him put his pacifier back in his mouth. <3

A Day In The Life by LKSquared Photography

I’m not going to lie, I was pretty nervous for this Day In The Life shoot with LKSquared Photography. I wanted to lose weight first, have the cleaning lady come, get my hair and nails done, have our clothes planned out, but of course none of that happened. And none of it mattered. I knew I had to do this from the moment I met Lauren and heard about documentary photography. I’d look at her work and videos of families I’d never met before and find myself tearing up.  I was so jealous that they had all those moments captured so beautifully. A whole day, from wake up to bedtime.  I take tons of photos of my girls but it’s different when you have the whole story. Plus, I get to be in the photos for a change!!! Oh and my husband had no problem with it once he heard he wouldn’t have to smile for even one photo:)

Some people might not understand why I’d want photos of my girls making me crazy, crying, or full of boogers. This is why.

You can see even more from our day on Lauren’s blog here!

If there’s even a small part of you that thinks you might want this captured for your family I say do it. You won’t regret it, but you might regret waiting.
